“Resurrection Bay, August” is an original oil painting of Resurrection Bay in Seward, Alaska. I started it in our camper at the campground, wanting to capture the feeling of August on an Alaskan beach, the misty clouds, muted colors and mountains fading into the coastal atmosphere. The fireweed set the time of year and add a pop of bright color.
I’m always drawn to the way Alaska’s weather can soften a landscape without taking away its scale.
